Editorial Policy — How We Write at Medicaal
Medicaal is a general health-education website. We are not a clinic, and our articles are not medical advice. This page explains how our content is produced, reviewed, and kept trustworthy.
Who writes our content
Articles are researched and written by the Medicaal Editorial Team — writers and editors focused on translating established health guidance into clear, everyday language. We do not present ourselves as doctors, and no article on this site should be treated as a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment.
How we research
- We base articles on guidance from authoritative public-health sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).
- We prefer official guidelines, systematic reviews, and established medical references over single small studies, blogs, or anecdotes.
- Where evidence is uncertain or evolving, we say so — using cautious language like “research suggests”, “may be linked to”, and “is associated with” rather than absolute claims.
What we will never publish
- Miracle cures, “secret remedies”, or guaranteed results.
- Recommendations for specific prescription drugs, dosages, or supplements as treatment.
- Content designed to frighten readers into buying products.
- Medical claims we cannot trace back to a reputable source.
Review and updates
- Every article is reviewed by an editor before publication for accuracy, tone, and clarity.
- Health guidance changes over time, so we periodically review published articles and update them when recommendations evolve. When an article is substantially updated, its “last updated” date reflects the change.
- Each article includes a “When to see a doctor” section for topics where professional evaluation matters, and a closing medical note reminding readers that our content is general information only.
Corrections
If you spot an error in any article, please tell us through our Contact page (/contact-us/). We take corrections seriously: verified errors are fixed promptly, and significant corrections are noted on the article itself.
Advertising and independence
Medicaal does not sell products, and our editorial content is not influenced by advertisers. If we ever display advertising (for example through Google AdSense), it will be clearly distinguishable from editorial content, and advertisers will have no say in what we write.
